GLE Rotterdam bv is part of the international operating GLE Group; a chain of workshops with highly professional, well-trained workshop staff/mechanics who execute (field) repair and maintenance of both trailers, trucks and dollies. GLE Group is the service provider of ICTS Group, an International trailer rental company, for which the total GLE Group performs 60% of all trailer work. GLE Group also performs (field) repair and services for external customers and third parties, in both the workshops and on location (field services).
Job description
The chief mechanic is responsible for the technical aspects of the workshop in Rotterdam (The Netherlands). A customer-friendly and commercial mindset should be the basis to work with. The tasks consist of:
- Plan work activities based on incoming orders
- Technical guidance of the mechanics
- Control the quality of performed work
- Streamline and check the correct work procedures
- Communication with customers about (upcoming) work
- Guide the process of incoming order towards invoicing
- Create damage reports
- Discuss subjects about invoicing, purchasing of parts and warehousing with Service Manager
- Provide and advise about service to customer
- Search and order special parts (f.i Truck parts)
- Determine needed and wished extra trainings / courses for and with the mechanics
- Guide and train new mechanics
- Responsible for technical quality and state of tools and internal vehicles / material
- Knowledge and responsibility about tools, clothing mechanics, hygiene, behaviour.

Requirements
The following qualifications are required for this full-time position:
- Graduated with an “Mbo-diploma on the education of car technique / car mechanic or similar
- Leadership / management skills
- APK 1 (MOT) qualified is preferred / a plus
- Driver’s license CE is preferred
- Customer friendly and service-minded attitude. Providing optimal service is a must for you.
- Autonomous and flexible can-do mindset
- Full-time available, 40 hours / week
- Representative with good social and communicative skills
- Commercial skills and mindset and and administratively strong
- Alert, able to cope with stress
- Knowledge of both Dutch and English language in speaking and writing (German is a plus)
- Knowledge of MS Office and Outlook
